The Oscars paid royal tribute to The King's Speech, honoring the drama about King George VI as Best Picture and shining gold upon its Best Actor Colin Firth, Director Tom Hooper and Screenplay writer David Seidler.

"I have a feeling my career's just peaked," Firth said on the stage of Hollywood's Kodak Theatre Sunday night, at the 83rd annual Academy Awards.

The British actor was so excited he admitted to "experiencing stirrings … in the abdominal region that are threatening to turn themselves into dance moves."

Natalie Portman, as the troubled dancer in Black Swan, was named Best Actress. "This is insane," she said in her speech. "I truly, sincerely wish the prize tonight was to work with my fellow nominees. I am in such awe of you."

The Fighter's Melissa Leo and Christian Bale took the Oscars for Supporting Actress and Actor.

Disney-Pixar's Toy Story 3 claimed the Animated Feature Oscar and another for composer Randy Newman's Best Song, "We Belong Together."

The technical awards were monopolized by Inception, with four, and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, with three. Surprisingly, the Coen Brothers' True Grit, which went into the evening with 10 nominations (second only to the 12 for The King's Speech) ended up being entirely shut out.

Melissa Leo Drops F-Bomb

Over the course of the three-hour-plus evening, Leo was the first major winner. Reaching the Kodak Theatre stage and admitting the situation left her "shaking in my boots," Leo also dropped the F-bomb because of her excitement.

"When I watched Kate [Winslet, for The Reader] two years ago, it looked so [expletive deleted] ..." ABC bleeped out the words.

Speaking backstage to reporters afterwards, Leo – dressed in a Marc Bouwer gown with Jay Carlile for Forevermark earrings and diamond ring – said, "Those words – I apologize to anyone if they offend. There's a great deal of the English language that is in my vernacular. I really don't mean to offend, and probably a very inappropriate place to use that particular word."

When Best Supporting Actor Bale won later in the evening, the strongest phrase he used was "bloody hell." He did acknowledge costar Leo's speech, however.

"I'm not going to drop the F-bomb like she did. I've done that plenty before," said Bale, referring to an on-set, 4-minute rant two years ago, in which he was quoted as using the F-word 36 times during the making of Terminator Salvation.

In the Adapted Screenplay category, the winner was Aaron Sorkin for The Social Network. In his eloquent acceptance speech, he held his Oscar with pride, then addressed his daughter: "Roxy Sorkin, your father just won the Academy Award. I'm going to have to insist on some respect from your guinea pig."

This morning, we posted pictures of Taylor Swift canoodling with Glee star Chord Overstreet at the LA Kings hockey game last night. While we were elated to see Swifty moving on with a new man, (and very handsome one at that), we wondered where their paths had crossed. They're both very busy bees and we don't want to think that this was some sort of "arrangement" handled by their PR teams for some publicity.
Then, we got an email from a reliable source who cleared things up for us.
Chord is actually the son of very famous songwriter/country music star, Paul Overstreet. Seeing as Taylor is one of the biggest country acts of the last few years, Chord has probably met her on more than one occasion through his pops.
Excellent! So, they've got a good repertoire already in place, they've gone on their first date…now we want to see some fireworks!

The show won't go on – at least for now.

CBS halted production of Two and a Half Men on Thursday after Charlie Sheen lambasted the show's creator in bizarre interviews.

"Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of Two and a Half Men for the remainder of the season," says producer Warner Bros. Television and the network that broadcasts the program, CBS.

The statement was released after Sheen, 45, went on profane, rambling rampages against Alcoholics Anonymous, party girls, his ex-wife, founding father Thomas Jefferson and Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre.

Sheen responded to the news that CBS halted production of his show, calling out Lorre, whom he again refers to as Haim Levine, specifically.

"I fire back once and this contaminated little maggot can't handle my power and can't handle the truth," the letter reads. "I wish him nothing but pain in his silly travels especially if they wind up in my octagon. Clearly I have defeated this earthworm with my words – imagine what I would have done with my fire breathing fists."

Sheen concludes his letter with an open plea for his fans to support him.

"I urge all my beautiful and loyal fans who embraced this show for almost a decade," he writes, "to walk with me side-by-side as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong."

Justin Tennison's crewmates on Deadliest Catch are paying tribute to the 34-year-old fisherman, who was found dead in an Alaska hotel room this week.

"It is with great sadness that the Time Bandit family announces the death of crew member Justin Tennison," the vessel's crew posted on its Web site. "Justin died peacefully in his sleep."

Tennison died of unknown causes, and an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday, reports the Anchorage Daily News. His body was found Tuesday in a hotel room with alcohol and about a quarter ounce of marijuana, police said.

According to his ship's crew, Tennison had lived in Alaska for 28 years "and joined the Time Bandit crew as a deckhand fishing the Red King 2010 and Opilio 2011 seasons."

"Justin was tough as a bull and was an all-around good hand," the Web site statement continues. "The Captains and Crew appreciated his hard work and many contributions this past year. We will miss him terribly and wish his family all the best during this most difficult time. Justin is survived by a son, daughter, sister, father and grandparents."

The Discovery Channel released a statement saying it was "saddened by the passing of Time Bandit crew member Justin Tennison. We send our sympathies to his entire family and fellow crew members during this most difficult time."

There’s a leopard dress that I get to wear next that I’m excited about. I love prints,” she said. 

When it comes to clothes for warmer weather, it’s shorts for spring that are all the rage for the girls. “I’m like obsessed with them,” said Lourdes. But one of the greatest things about the line, Osbourne observes, is that it’s accessible to everyone. “There’s not many other companies besides Material Girl that do clothes at an affordable price that are high fashion and [are] what people see in the magazines and can emulate themselves without having to go and spend $1000 on a dress,” she said.

And one of the most important aspects of the line for 14 year old Lourdes was making sure that other girls her age could buy great clothes without breaking the bank. “I don’t go out and buy all of these expensive [clothes]…so it’s good for my friends. It’s good for everybody and it’s good clothing, too.”

"That is not true! I'm working on a new album - so I'm pregnant too!"

Maybe Steven is no longer a fan of the whole concept after the marriage to his second wife, clothing designer Teresa Barrick, ended in 2006 after 18 years.
It looks like the couple of 5 years is going pret-ty strong without the assistance of a ring on her finger anyway.

Before all her guests arrived, Rihanna managed to sneak away to party with her best girlfriends in a secluded room in the Beverly Hills house. When she later joined the main party, she sported a tight-fitting pink dress with some purple fringe around the skirt.

There, she greeted her high-wattage friends warmly. "She [gave] Ryan Phillippe and Zac Efron huge hugs," the source says, adding that the two actors hung out together and chatted throughout the night.

Also on hand: Cee Lo Green and his crew, who were spotted noshing on some of Oxtail and plantains, as well as Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z, who were "laughing and having a blast posing for photos in corner of the party," the source says. Blige also "squealed with excitement" when she caught sight of Diddy, and they shared a long hug.

Later, Snoop Dog and Warren G rolled in at 1 a.m. and proceeded to dance and sing along to some old-school hip-hop songs while guests cheered them on.

Joel Madden and Christina Milian were also celebrating with the birthday gal, and both them indulged in vanilla and red velvet cupcakes, respectively.

She may be an international star, but to Billy Ray Cyrus daughter Miley is still his little girl.

That's why it's been so difficult for him to watch the recent events: the infamous video of her smoking the herb salvia from a bong and the 18th birthday party that he refused to attend because it was in a bar.

"I'm scared for her," Billy Ray, 49, tells the March issue of GQ. "She's got a lot of people around her that's putting her in a great deal of danger. I know she's 18, but I still feel like as her daddy I'd like to try to help. Take care of her just a little bit, to at least get her out of danger."

Billy Ray adds, "I want to get her sheltered from the storm. Stop the insanity just for a minute. When you go through what she's been through, it takes a beating on you. And there comes a point where you just got to step back."

But the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer says he feels squeezed out of her life. He reminds people that while he appeared with her on the hit show Hannah Montana, he's not her manager and has no say in her professional life.

"For the record," he says, "to set it straight, I want to tell you: I've never made a dime off of Miley. You got a lot of people have made percentages off of her. I'm proud to say to this day I've never made one commissioned dollar, or dime, off of my daughter."

Billy Ray blames the problems on bad advice given to Miley by her handlers and the pressures of the Disney Channel show, particularly the shooting of the final episodes in January 2010. By the fall, Billy Ray would be in divorce proceedings with Miley's mother, Tish Cyrus.

"The damn show destroyed my family," he says. "And I sit there and go, 'Yeah, you know what? Some gave all.' It is my motto, and guess what? I have to eat that one. I some-gave-all'd it all right. I some-gave-all'd it while everybody else was going to the bank. It's all sad."

Hudson says her daughter and her new husband make a great team, though she doesn't always understand how they do it, given their crazy schedules.


"I don't know whether it's private jets or what, but they make it work," she says.


In addition to her mother, Perry also brought her grandmother, Ann Hudson, to the Grammys for her 90th birthday – and her mom pointed out that Brand was right there to help, too.

"He is holding one side of Granny, and Katy is holding the other," she said.

The cast and crew of "Two and a Half Men" have just taken a major hit to their bank accounts, because Warner Bros. has just axed 4 of the remaining episodes.

Warner Bros. was supposed to produce 8 more episodes to end the season, but with Charlie Sheen out, it set production behind.

Sources connected with the show tell us ... show creator Chuck Lorre has decided he only wants to produce 4 more episodes when Charlie comes back, and the crew is pissed.

One crew member says, "We've been left in the dark and now we have no pay for 4 episodes and all we hear is that Chuck is saying, 'They're not my problem.'"

Sources say Charlie has told people he was willing to work weekends and beyond the scheduled wrap date to make sure all 8 episodes were produced. 

As for the schedule, the show will go back into production on February 28.  The remaining 4 episodes will be shot on March 4, 11, 18 and 25.

Country stars Lady Antebellum represented for Nashville and had a very good night at Sunday's Grammy Awards. The six-time nominees collected five awards, including record of the year and song of the year, for their megahit "Need You Now."

"We just cried our eyes out backstage," Charles Kelley said on stage at L.A.'s Staples Center while accepting record of the year. "I can't believe we're standing up here again."

Meanwhile in an upset, rockers Arcade Fire bested Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, Katy Perry and Eminem, winning the night's biggest honor, album of the year, for their third album, The Suburbs. The band, who performed a rollicking version of "Month of May" earlier in the telecast complete with bicycle-riders, immediately took the stage again and sprinted through an anthemic version of "Ready to Start" after collecting their award from Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.

Ten-time nominee Eminem picked up best rap album for Recovery during the ceremony. "Okay, this is crazy," he said as he received a standing ovation. "Thank you to the fans."

In another unexpected choice, jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding was named best new artist despite a strong (and starry) showing in the category. Her competitors included Justin Bieber and Drake.

Six-time nominee Gaga offered an aerobic performance of her new single "Born This Way" early in the show, and also won best pop vocal album for The Fame Monster.

Talk about a grade-A entrance: When Lady Gaga rolled into the 53rd annual Grammy Awards Sunday night, the six-time nominee arrived in an alternative form of transportation.

E! red carpet host Ryan Seacrest described it as a shell or an egg.

"This is going to make for an interesting interview," Seacrest said, with a laugh. "How are we going to crack that shell and make a conversation with Lady Gaga?"

The album of the year nominee, 24, who's expected to perform her much-hyped single "Born This Way" at the ceremony, apparently had oxygen tank inside the egg, but she never spoke a word on the red carpet. Instead, her team did all the talking.

"She is incubating," choreographer Laurieann Gibson told an amused Seacrest. "She won't be born until her performance this evening."

The pop queen waved from inside the "womb," which was designed by Hussein Chalayan, saving her energy for what Gibson said would be a performance that would "shift the world."

Aerosmith 'Crazy' Model -- Arrested on Rape Charge

Dean Kelly -- the ripped ex-model who skinny dips with Alicia Silverstone in Aerosmith's 1994 music video for "Crazy" -- was arrested on Monday on suspicion of rape.


Law enforcement sources tell us, 39-year-old Kelly allegedly lured an unidentified woman into his New Orleans home last November ... where he got her drunk, and then raped her.



The incident wasn't reported until last Friday, which explains the belated arrest. Kelly was released on $35,000 bail.

The Tulane University Police Dept. had been looking for Dean Kelly, aka Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt's character in "Fight Club"), who allegedly had been trying to get girls on campus to pose for nude photos. The Tulane P.D. helped capture Kelly and now authorities in the rape case want info from the Tulane students.

Elizabeth Taylor has had another health scare.

The legendary actress, 78, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles earlier this week for symptoms caused by congestive heart failure, described as "an ongoing condition," according to a statement from her reps.

"This issue is being addressed," the statement says. "She is currently being kept in the hospital for monitoring."

Taylor underwent heart surgery in October 2009 and has a long history of medical problems.

"Her family and close friends are appreciative of the warm support and interest of her loyal fans," the statement says, "but have asked that people respect her privacy and allow her medical team the time and space to focus on restoring her back to health."

Actress Peggy Rea, possibly best known for her work on The Dukes of Hazzard, died of congestive heart failure on Saturday at her home in Toluca Lake, Calif. She was 89.

Aside from playing Lulu Hogg on The Dukes of Hazzard, Rea's other notable TV roles include Cousin Bertha on All in the Family, Rose Burton on The Waltons, Ivy Baker on Step By Step and Jean Kelly in Grace Under Fire, according to the Hollywood Reporting.

Rea also acted in several films, including Made in America and In Country.

The L.A.-born actress first appeared on I Love Lucy in 1953. While her career didn't really take off until she was in the 40s, Rea worked well into her 70s.

Four days before Lindsay Lohan allegedly stole the $2,500 necklace at the center of her felony case, she tried walking out of the same store days before with a diamond earring ... this according to the police report obtained... but the prior incident could actually help Lindsay's case.



According to the report, on January 18, four days before the alleged necklace incident, Lindsay went to Kamofie & Company and tried on a pair of 18 karat gold white diamond earrings. Lindsay removed one earring and left the other in her ear while she shopped.

According to the report, "Ms. Lohan gathered her things and started to leave the jewelry store without making a purchase. Ms. Lohan's hair was flipped to one side covering the diamond earring."

The report states, "[The clerk] stopped her and reminded Ms. Lohan she was still wearing the earring. Ms. Lohan laughed, admitted to her mistake and removed the earring from her ear and returned it to [the clerk]."

The scenario involving the earrings is similar to Lindsay's conduct in the store when she left with the necklace.

Ironically, the earring incident could actually help Lindsay. She had absentmindedly left her own, more expensive earrings on the counter as she began walking out of the store with the single earring. And, people who know Lindsay say she's a scatterbrain who forgets basic things all the time.

Remember, trials are all about creating reasonable doubt. So she's either a klepto or forgetful... and when in doubt, the verdict must be not guilty.

Feb9am Lindsay's now Charged with Felony Grand Theft

Lindsay Lohan To Be Charged with Felony Grand Theft

The actress will be charged today with one felony count of grand theft for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, Calif., jewelry store on Jan. 22, the Los Angeles District Attorney has announced.

She is required to show up in person for an arraignment at an L.A. courthouse Wednesday afternoon. If convicted, Lohan, 24, potentially faces several years in state prison.

The actress's attorney Shawn Chapman Holley has denied Lohan committed any crime and plans to defend her in court.

A source close to the actress insisted the necklace was borrowed, not stolen. "Lindsay's used to getting gifted items that are worth way more than that. And why would she steal a necklace? She has tons of jewelry and doesn't need any more."

"The prosecutors have an uphill battle ahead because they must prove criminal intent, that Lindsay knew she wasn't authorized to remove the necklace from the store," says L.A. criminal defense attorney Stanley L. Friedman, who's not involved with the case. "Her attorney will almost certainly argue this was all just a misunderstanding."

Prison vs. Jail

"If she's convicted, the fact that Lindsay's on probation makes it more likely that she's headed for state prison versus jail," Friedman adds. "And in prison, they never release inmates early for overcrowding, only for good behavior."

LAPD detectives obtained a search warrant last week to search Lohan's Venice home, but before they descended on the actress, the necklace was returned to the police station, according to an LAPD statement.

Lohan is also currently under investigation by Riverside County prosecutors for allegedly battering a Betty Ford employee.

In her DUI case alone, L.A. Superior Court Judge Elden Fox previously warned Lohan on Oct. 22 that any more slip-ups would be met with six months in jail.

Lindsay is always in a mess.

Lindsay Lohan reportedly stole a necklace, but she said she borrowed it and that she left her 'people' to sign for it.  Apparently no one signed, and she walked out with it.
The necklace is valued at $2,500 from a Venice, CA jewelry store.

Feb6 Shia LaBeouf put in Cuffs

Shia LaBeouf from Terminator was placed in handcuffs after a fight at a bar last night, but was eventually released. 

It all went down at Mad Bulls Tavern in Sherman Oaks, CA.  Shia is a frequent patron of the establishment. According to witnesses, he got a little rowdy and ended up getting punched in the face.

Sources close to Shia paint a different story -- they say Shia was jumped on his way out of the bar. They say police arrived on scene shortly thereafter, cuffed everyone involved, and eventually let Shia go. Police have no record of any arrests being made.

Sources close to the actor say the security guard at the bar backed up Shia's version of events.

Miley Cyrus Gets Tattoo No. 5

 Miley Cyrus has added another tattoo to her collection.

The 18-year-old singer-actress now has a dream catcher on the side of her torso. "It's a picture of the dream catcher that hangs over her bed with four feathers to represent her four brothers and sisters," says the friend. (Miley's siblings are Brandi, 23, Trace, 21, Braison, 16, and Noah, 11.) "The dream catcher is to protect them."

That brings Cyrus's current tattoo tally up to five.

She also has a heart and a small cross on her fingers, the word 'love" on her ear and the phrase "just breathe" on her rib cage in honor of a close friend who died of cystic fibrosis.

Feb4 Mel Gibson Extortion

Mel Gibson Extortion Investigation Headed to D.A.

The Mel Gibson extortion case will go to the District Attorney next week, they could decide days later whether to charge Mel with domestic violence and Oksana Grigorieva with extortion.

The D.A. has been waiting for the file and wants to make a joint decision on both the domestic violence case and the extortion case.

The D.A. is expected to make a quick decision.  If the Sheriff presents the file early next week, Mel and Oksana could learn their fate by week's end... about time
